GLOBAL CHALLENGES
ASSEMBLY DEBATES GLOBAL CHALLENGES OF SPORT-FOR-ALL

ISCA General Assembly delegates have been urged to consider the impact of global challenges on Sport for All organizations. The political agendas of regional, national and international organizations are heavily impacted by global issues such as:

•    Economic Stagnation
•    Public Health
•    Aging Populations
•    Integration and Intercultural Dialogue
•    Climate and Environmental Changes

ISCA President Mogens Kirkeby has implored ISCA members to consider themselves as “Part of the game – part of the solution.” Civil society organizations are not expected to solve all global and national challenges. However, our organizations are and should be a strong part of the solution!  ISCA is responding to specific challenges by creating thematic networks to develop comprehensive policy and action.

ISCA’S LATIN AMERICAN CONTINENTAL COMMITTEE INSPIRES WITH A LARGE VARIETY OF SIGNIFICANT INITIATIVES

Maria Luiza Souza Dias, Chair of the ISCA Latin American Committee, explained to the General Assembly that ISCA continental activities in Latin America are growing fast and reach-out to an ever-growing number of people. The Latin American Continental Committee has significantly enlarged its network and provides ISCA a fantastic access to the area, with its flagship events such as the Challenge Day.
Among these events Souza Dias and the chairperson of the Latin American Youth Committee, Andrea Desiderio, highlighted the second edition of Camp Brazil, which enabled 100 young persons from Brazil and neighbour countries to share continuous learning through sport, plan future common activities and expand their networks.
SESC now offers virtual forums so that onsite activities (i.e. Camp Brazil) can be followed-up and developed through adapted online communities.  Virtual forums further strengthen cross-continental cooperation.

ISCA’s President Mogens Kirkeby congratulated the Latin American representatives for their excellent work and underlined the inspiration and motivation that they bring to ISCA.
