Fighting diabetes and HIV/AIDS through Sport for All
Unique international partnership is now being launched in South Africa

The Danish Gymnastics and Sports Associations (DGI) will be visiting South Africa with the National Danish Performance Team (NDPT) this month - such teams have been touring the world for more than a decade now. But this time, there is a new angle:

The team will give performances and carry out a number of active workshops involving children and youth – a target group vulnerable to diabetes and HIV/AIDS. The aim is to hold a total of 10-12 workshops in South Africa, reaching up to 2000 children and youth, and performances reaching 24.000 spectators with the messages of healthy lifestyles and prevention of HIV/AIDS and diabetes.

This focused outreach with the health topic in mind is the result of an innovative international partnership between the following partners: Danish Gymnastics and Sports Association (DGI), South African Gymnastics Federation (SAGF), World Diabetes Foundation (WDF), the Royal Danish Embassy (RDE) and insuline provider Novo.
