"We had a very open discussion on sport as educational and social tools. This area is one of the priority areas of the Brazilian Ministry of Sport and is important to ISCA.  We share many opinions on this issue with the Ministry of Sport. Sonny Jacobsen Joins ISCA staff as Intern

ISCA welcomes Sonny Jacobsen to our Copenhagen Secretariat where he will be an intern for the next 6 months.  Sonny will participate in several areas of Secretariat work while having a focus on the theme "sport and development".  ISCA has been developing its profile in this important area by implementing activities (Democratic Development Through Grassroot Sport in South East Europe) that focus on Sport and Development.  ISCA was also an important contributor to the 2005 UN Year of Sport for Development and Peace.  ISCA is currently a steering group member for the International Platform on Sport and Development (www.sportanddev.org).

Sonny serves as part-time coordinator of the Danish Network of Sport and Development (NSD).  He is also an active basketball player and trainer in his free time.

We look forward to working with Sonny as we come closer to the Sport and Development sector.
