MOVE2011 Special Events
EuroVolNet Workshop: MOVE2011 will feature a EuroVolNet workshop providing time and space for a fruitful exchange of ideas between EuroVolNet project partners and concerned organizations, institutions and volunteers addressing the promotion of volunteering across Europe. Fundraising session: Money, Money, Money, Money! We all want it. We all need it. How can we get more? The MOVE2011 congress features a session on new funding models and trends in fundraising in sport and physical activity, including Fundraising for Projects, Selling of naming rights, and Private Foundations as key investor in social sport. Poster Fair: MOVE 2011 will feature a Poster Fair with more than 15 poster presentations from a diverse group of countries including Spain, France, Turkey, Bangladesh, Finland, Israel, Brazil and Denmark. HESE session: Advanced cooperation in the field of health enhancing sport exercises (HESE) with the ambition to enlarge, assure and improve the quality of HESE initiatives. SESC Bom Retiro Opening
The SESC in the State of São Paulo has launched, on August 27 and 28, 2011, "SESC Bom Retiro" in São Paulo city. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Abram Szajman, the President of Fecomercio, Commerce Federation of the State of Sao Paulo with the presence of Mr. Danilo Santos de Miranda, the Regional Director of SESC São Paulo, counting also on municipal authorities, such as: Mr. Gilberto Kassab, the Mayor of São Paulo city.
During the Launching Program of SESC Bom Retiro was offered to the audience cultural and sport activities with the participation of athletes and former athletes of different sports. So, the building of this SESC center will certainly bring a great social value to the city of São Paulo, improving the people quality of live that live or/and work there. Read more >>>.

EURO-regions: a chance for Sport for All France and Spain united by grassroots sport in the EURO-regions since 2007
The Comité d’Organisation des Rencontres Sportives et Culturelles Pyrénées-Méditerranée is bringing together Spain and France since May 2007 by organizing sport and cultural activities. The association was born from the EURO-region concept that joined regions like Midi-Pyrénées and Languedoc-Roussillon, closer to the Spanish regions of Catalonia, Aragon and the Balearic Islands. ISCA members USEP (Union Sportive de l’Enseignement du Premier degré) in France and UCEC (Unio de Consells Esportius de Catalunya) in Spain have entered a continuous partnership resulting in the exciting events such as sport and cultural exchanges for kids and teachers. Sport, School and Physical Education by Sport and Citizenship
"Sport and Citizenship, the European think tank dedicated to the study of the impact of sport policies, has published the September 2011 issue of their quarterly scientific journal. Focusing on the theme "Sport, school and PE", the journal includes interviews, reviews about best practices and expert reports to different topics in this area, including: What are the relationships between Sport, School and PE? Can we draw a European panorama? What is at stake when thinking about PE? How could we further promote sport at school? Which school pace to choose for tomorrow? These are some of the topics tackled by the experts and representatives of prestigious institutions, such as Luc Chatel, French Minister of national education, Johannes Hahn, European Commissioner for regional policy, as well as Adam Giersz, Polish Minister of Sport and Tourism and Ken Hardman, Professor at the University of Worcester. National championship in club development
The 8th of October the Danish Gymnastics and Sports Associations are launching a national championship in club development. Local clubs are invited to enter a “friendly competition” on how to develop their clubs in order to meet the future demands from society and citizens. Within the Danish sport structure the local clubs are the essential provider of activities with a very huge outreach. The championship in club development will focus on five themes: • Recruitment of more volunteer leaders; • Recruitment of members; • Development of new modern and flexible activities; • Facility development; • Interaction and involvement of the local community and local cross sector cooperation. The Danish Gymnastics and Sports Associations have 5.000 member clubs with altogether more than 1.5 million individual members. The national championship in club development will be launched the 8th October 2011 in the European Year of Volunteering and run to May 2012, which by the way will be the European Year of Active Ageing. Social Tourism in the Americas Meeting Tourism and Inclusion: Towards a humanist and social vision of tourism in the Americas
The Social Tourism in the Americas Meeting, was held from August 24th to 27th 2011. The event was organized by SESC in the State of São Paulo, and the Secretariat for the Americas of the International Social Tourism Organisation. The International Organisation of Social Tourism is an international non-profit association, whose aim is to promote access to tourism for all, and more particularly for low-income population groups. Under the theme Tourism and Inclusion: towards a humanist and social vision of tourism in the Americas – the meeting aimed to induce the participant into thinking about the relevance of tourism as an instrument for social, cultural and economic inclusion on the American Continent. Tourism is based on solidarity, on the respect of diversities and on democratic principles. To achieve its objectives, the meeting included lectures discussing the rich panorama of social tourism in the Americas, as well as inducing thoughts on inclusion and education through tourism. Experiences in inclusive tourism will also be approached, leading to discussions on non-conventional practices promoting access to tourism, all the while respecting the cultural, environmental and economic sustainability of the places visited. The event counts on lectures and participants from Latin America countries, such as: Canada, Chile, France, Mexico, Paraguay, Uruguay, etc.

Inspiring Sport for all offers in the new Grundtvig catalogue
Various European Union countries and Turkey will host seminars and trainings concerned with physical education, social integration, sustainable development and many others topics in the framework of the European Commission’s ‘Grundtvig: practical learning for adults’ programme. The new Grundtvig catalogue is out now and features a wide range of activities up to August 2012. Among others, ISCA partner ‘Inverclyde National Centre for Sports’ in Glasgow, Scotland will host an ‘Inclusion through Sport’ workshop from April 1-8, 2012. The event targets learners with fewer opportunities from 5 different countries and provides rich opportunites to try out seven different sports and learn about the history of various national sports and the Olympics. The Dekeyser&Friends Foundation is organising a Sports Coaching Project in Hamburg, Germany, beginning in April 2012. Youths between the age of 18 and 25, and with an interest in youth empowerment can apply for this full scholarship until 23 October. Who can apply? If you are between 18 and 28 years of age, love sports, enjoy working with children and teenagers and want to help them and their communities by promoting their confidence, self-awareness, tolerance, team-spirit and joy through sports, then this Project is for you. Nature & Sports Euro'Meet 5-8 October 2011 in France
From October 5-8, the city of Annecy, in France will host the Nature & Sports Euro'Meet. Researchers, trainers and politicians will gather to discuss implication of the practice of outdoor sports on the environment, best practices within the field of sports for all, and finally the capacity of Outdoor Sports as a factor for territorial development. The event is organized by the European Tourism and Outdoor Sports Network. The congress aims at gathering around 1000 European participants from the sport, tourism, environment and regional development sector. Virada Esportiva 2011
The citizens and visitors of São Paulo city, in Brazil, enjoyed 36 hours of sports, leisure, culture and entertainment during the "Virada Esportiva 2011", event that was held on September 17-18, 2011 with the aim to encourage the practice of sports in the city. This event is promoted by the City Hall of São Paulo in partnership with Turism São Paulo (SPTuris), where several activities of sports, recreation, leisure and culture are carried out in public and private infrastructures around the city. The activities are free and all citizens can participate. Furthermore, it´s an opportunity for people know more about different sports as well as explore amazing places in São Paulo. SESC SP is a partner in this event, developing sport activities in their branches located in São Paulo city, such as: Futsal, Badminton, Handball and Street Basketball Festivals, Shuffleboard, Softbol, Table Tennis, Air Track, Dance, among others.
