World Youth Conference 23-27 August 2010
In 2010, Mexico will celebrate two hundred years of independent life and a hundred years of the Revolution that marked the bases of modern Mexico. In those events, the ideals and aspirations of young people played a key role, as they do today.
The Mexican government acknowledges that the development of nations depends largely on the opportunities provided for the youth population and the strengthening of their capacities to exploit them in a timely, appropriate fashion. It therefore encourages all development efforts to pay particular attention to the needs of youth.
Five years from deadline set by the international community to achieve development goals; Mexico is organizing the World Youth Conference 2010 (WYC 2010) that will take place in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon from August 23rd to the 27th 2010.
The WYC 2010 will work as a sphere for discussion and reflection on the role of youth in achieving them and the new development agenda that will be set in 2015.
It will also help building bridges for dialogue between the civil society and government organizations on experiences, diagnoses, policies, strategies and programs for youth and development.
You can register for the event at their website. Click here.
Deadline for registeration is 30th of April.
