STUDY SESSION ON YOUTH VOICES THROUGH INCLUSIVE SPORTS

Your way into European Youth Cooperation in inclusive sports

From the 19-25 April 2010, ENGSO Youth organizes a study session on social inclusion in cooperation with Council of Europe’s Directorate of Youth and Sport.

The aims are:

• develop a common understanding of sport as a tool for social change;

• take a critical look at the opportunities within sport and the need for the development of social inclusion;

• promote active and creative possibilities to sport; and

• come to develop a document with good practice examples of how youth can use sport for social inclusion.

 

 

DATE & VENUE

The study session will be held from 19th of April to 25th of April, 2010. Participants are expected to arrive on 19th at 6 p.m. and leave on 25th at 1 p.m.. The study session will be held at European Youth Centre in Strasbourg, France (30, rue Pierre de Coubertin, 67000 Strasbourg ). TARGET GROUP

The study session is aimed at

• youth leaders who are active in youth sector and sport sector;

• young people who are involved in voluntary work at a local, regional and/or national level;

• youth interested in using sport for social inclusion; and

• youth with interest in European context of social inclusion through the alternative of active or game-based means.

 

ENGSO Youth wishes to receive applications from both female and male applicants covering the whole age scale from 18 to 35 years and with different cultural and educational backgrounds, and ENGSO Youth wants to point out that at the Youth Centre there are 3 rooms specially equipped to receive disabled people. All the applicants are expected to be able to communicate in English during the study session. For the study session 30 participants can be accepted. Council of Europe’s Department of Youth and Sport covers the costs of accomodation and travelling. Cheapest public transport is to be used. Travel costs will be reimbursed on the basis of the least expensive route between the place of residence and Strasbourg.
