SPORT AND CULTURES IN DIALOGUE



Citizens Panel in Zagreb, Croatia, 1. – 3.10.2010

Citizens Panel in Zagreb will bring together people from local and national communities and project partner associations to share and exchange experiences, opinions and values, to learn from history and to build for the future. They will foster action, debate and reflection related to European citizenship, European health, physical activity, and culture through cooperation within civil society organizations on local, national and international level. By bringing Europe closer to Croatian citizens by promoting Europe's values and achievements will encourage interaction between citizens and civil society organizations from project partners countries, contributing to intercultural dialogue. 

 

The Panel will be coordinated by ISCA and CESS and organized by two of Sport and Cultures in Dialogue project partner: Croatian Medical Association / Croatian Sport Medicine Society and University in Zagreb, Faculty of Kinesiology.


Intercultural Dialogue through sport

The Panel is expected to attract:

  • persons who represent the leadership or management level of the involved civil society organizations
  • citizens who are active in civil society debate or organizations at the grass-root level,
  • local authorities and organizations,
  • citizens’ groups,
  • civil society organizations and non-governmental organizations,
  • educational institutions (universities)
  • organizations active in the field of voluntary work

 

Panel goals:

 

  1. Insight into the actual standpoints on the role of physical activity in health and quality of life protection and promotion and on EU goals in socialization and integration of different population groups.
  2. Exchange of experience and discussion on the possibilities of physical activity programs nest in life culture and quality of life promotion as well as on health protection and promotion.
  3. Conclusions and guidelines should point out social and health value of physical activity and foster the Government and relevant institutions to accept it, not as the personal need of the individuals, than as a part of national policy.
  4. The long-term goal is policy change, set out laws and other normative documents, foster of cross-sectoral cooperation and cooperation with NGO as well as the partial funding provide for making and implementation of national action program.
