NERO - Non formal Education in youth Rural Organizations

ISCA – International Sport and Culture Association - and BYPF – Bulgarian Young People Foundation, have the pleasure to invite you to the training: NERO – Non formal Education in youth Rural Organizations
PLACE AND DATE
Complex Jeravna - Bankya, Bulgaria, 6th - 11th of May 2011 (Travel days included)
The training is part of a series of youth events that ISCA is running, and will be focused on development of youth work, youth participation and youth organizations through non-formal education as the main topics.
CONTENT
The methodology of the training is based on:
A learner-centered approach where the participants are bringing their own experience and resources to the table and will take a starting point in personal experience.
Secondly, a train-the-multiplier concept that is devised to qualify the participants in their own future projects via experienced (Coe) trainers.
Participants will be given the opportunity to share, discuss, learn about and develop new ideas within the theme of democratic youth participation. Participants will be strongly encouraged to organise own projects after the course as well as to transfer what they learned during the course to their respective groups/organisations.
OBJECTIVES
The objectives of this training are:
- to build partnerships between NGOs and public institutions to promote non-formal education
and its values
- to incorporate non-formal education in the growth and development strategy of rural youth and
sport clubs and associations
- to understand the diverse roles of voluntarism in the development of society
- to build competences on how to use the methodology “education through sport” to increase the
active youth participation
-to create a network of people interested in using the methodology “education through sport”
LANGUAGE
The working language will be English, therefore each participant is required to have good communication skills in this language.
PARTICIPANTS
23 participants, 18 – 30 years old. A small number of people could be above 30 years old.
The eligible countries for this training are: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia FYR Macedonia and Denmark.
The training is targeting:
- Active volunteers
- Youth leaders
- Youth workers
Participants should have an interest to develop activities using “education through sport” inside their own organization.
FINANCIAL CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
ISCA and BYPF will support all costs related to accommodation and food.
The participants should arrange their own travel to and from Bulgaria. Participants will receive a travel reimbursement of 70% of the total costs, up to the amounts mentioned below.
The organizers will need to see all original tickets and receipts to be able to enable a refund. We encourage participants to make use of the cheapest methods of travel possible.
MAXIMUM REIMBURSEMENT OF TRAVEL COSTS:
Albania, Bosnia Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia, TFYROM Macedonia and
Denmark - 200 Euro
Bulgaria – 100 Euro
The participation fee for the seminar is 25 euro and will be deducted from the travel reimbursement if relevant.

SOME INFORMATION ABOUT BYPF
A nonprofit, independent legal entity, established according to the Nonprofit Law. Main goal is to assists for better cooperation between the government and youth sports and culture formal and non-formal organizations, in order to accomplishment of active civil participation in the civil control implementation processes, as well as support establishment and efficient implementation of national and European policies for youth development, sport for all and national cultural identity, as part of the multi-cultural European space. Main activity: maintaining the relations of cooperation with governmental and nongovernmental organizations, legal entities and individuals, both in Bulgaria and abroad, to exchange information, experience and assistance in carrying out its objectives
