From January 9th  to February 28th all SESC branches within São Paulo State, Brazil, will focus their attention towards SESC SUMMER 2010 and will offer to the public a vast programming - with great playful installations, circuits of sport and leisure, chats and meetings with Brazilian athletes, demonstrations of diverse sportive modalities, besides expositions and shows  that aim to move and to aware the people about the importance and benefits of the daily practice of physical and sportive activities.

This year, based on theoretical studies on Corporal Education, SESC Summer 2010 brings the subject EMBOIDMENT, present in scientific debates that comprehend the body in its totality, in contraposition to the dualism body-mind, and is based on seven principles: Perception, Sensibility, Participation, Inclusion, Cooperation, Creativity and Overcoming.

“EMBOIDMENT is not a concept, but a change of attitude that we must have in relation to our corporal experience”, declares Professor Dr. Wagner Way Moreira, a studious of the subject.

According to Danilo Santos de Miranda, the Regional Director of SESC São Paulo, this programming is the result of much team thinking. The challenge will always be the increase of participation, facilitating the access to the public and the understanding of the concepts presented: “We want our messages to reache the persons. The body is unique and the movement is the best way to develop the individuals in their totality”, completes Miranda.

The activities proposed this year will explore the possibilities of the individual integral development under the perspective of “the human being in movement”, improving the reason,  sensibility, creativity and perception of the self, the others and the world, in search of individual and collective overcoming and conquest of a better quality of life.

SESC Summer 2010 takes place in the months of January and February in all SESC branches within Capital and Interior of the State. The expectation is to reach over two million people in the activities. Such affluence of public is due to the permanent work that the Institution develops in 31 branches of the state, leading the message of active living that contemplates the exercises and the sportive activity, develops the health and well-being and, on the other hand, is also related to the ability of SESC São Paulo in organizing events that integrate technical, scientific and socialization concepts and present the concept of playfulness and the access to participation.
